Puerto Iguazú

Puerto Iguazú is a small city located in the Misiones province of Argentina, near the border with Paraguay and Brazil. It is best known as the gateway to the stunning Iguazú Falls, one of the largest and most spectacular waterfall systems in the world.

The Iguazú Falls are located within the Iguazú National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site that covers over 500 acres of tropical rainforest. The park is home to a diverse array of plant and animal life, including over 2,000 species of plants and over 400 species of birds.

The falls themselves are truly breathtaking, with a total of 275 individual falls spread out over nearly two miles. The most famous of these is the Devil’s Throat, a massive U-shaped falls that plunges over 300 feet into the river below.

Visitors to Puerto Iguazú can explore the falls and the surrounding rainforest on a number of trails and walkways, or take a boat tour to get up close to the falls. There are also a number of other activities in the area, including rafting, horseback riding, and birdwatching.

In addition to the natural attractions, Puerto Iguazú also has a number of cultural and historical sites to explore. These include the ruins of the Jesuit missions of San Ignacio Mini and Santa Ana, as well as the Mbyá Guaraní indigenous village.

Overall, Puerto Iguazú is a must-visit destination for anyone interested in nature and adventure. The combination of stunning natural beauty and rich cultural history make it a truly unique and unforgettable destination.
