Yagoua

Yagoua is a city located in the Far North Region of Cameroon. It is the capital of the Mayo-Tsanaga department and has a population of around 50,000 people.

Yagoua is known for its beautiful natural scenery, with many parks and protected areas such as the “Parc National de Faro”, a National Park that covers an area of over 2,000 square kilometers and is home to a wide variety of wildlife, including elephants, lions, and chimpanzees. The city is also surrounded by mountains such as the Mont Mandara, which offers great hiking opportunities and spectacular views of the surrounding landscape.

The economy of Yagoua is based mainly on agriculture, with a focus on crops such as millet, sorghum, and groundnuts. The city is also home to several cattle markets, where local farmers and herders bring their animals to sell.

Yagoua is also a cultural hub, with many traditional festivals and events that take place throughout the year. The “Fête du Taureau” is one of the most famous, celebrating the strength and importance of the bull in the local culture. Visitors can also see traditional dances, music, and local crafts at the “Fête des Arts et des Métiers” held in August,
